As part of Black History Month, Creative Arts and Health and Social Care students at Southwark College were privileged to listen to black professionals who shared their life stories, challenges, and experiences. The theme for this year's Black History Month is 'Saluting Our Sisters,' which honours the achievements of Black women in history, including those whose contributions were ignored, ideas appropriated, and voices silenced.

Southwark College's Supported Learning students organised a cake sale to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, demonstrating their commitment to helping those in need and emphasising their exceptional determination and unity. The event was part of the yearly Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning initiative to support individuals living with cancer.

Southwark College invited the London Metropolitan Police to deliver a specialised interactive session to their adult students on the Business and Law course. The workshop took place as part of their course module to support student learning on ‘stop and search’ protocols carried out by the police.

Southwark College held an HE Careers fair that offered students a constructive platform to explore their options and career paths after college. The event welcomed representatives from universities from across the UK, including Aberystwyth, Brunel University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, the University of Coventry, City University, Greenwich University, University of East London, St Martins-Camberwell, University of London, London Metropolitan University, Lincoln University, London South Bank University, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, and King's College, among others.

Celebrations took place at The Young Vic to highlight the success of Southwark College students in completing the Supported Internship Programme. Seven students participated in the programme and had the opportunity to undertake specialised and bespoke internship placements with local employers, including The Young Vic, Guy's and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and Hilton London Bankside.

Art & Design students showcased their most cherished work in a Visual Art Exhibition as part of their final project for the academic year. The exhibition celebrated the young talent in Southwark, including work from courses, Fashion, 3D Design, Art, and Media and was live for visitors to view over the course of three weeks as part of this year’s Southwark College’s Creative Arts Summer Show.
