Creative Arts students at Southwark College unveiled a vibrant Visual Arts Exhibition as part of their final-year project.
The exhibition is a true celebration of our student’s creativity and hard work, featuring striking pieces from across disciplines, including Fashion, 3D Design, Art, Media, and Game Design.
The Exhibition's opening night welcomed friends, family, staff, and local residents, who were free to explore the gallery spaces — snapping photos, engaging with interactive installations, experimenting with digital games, and admiring the students' clothing designs.
Benjamin Gray, a Year 2 Art & Design and Fashion student at Southwark College, showcased a range of clothing inspired by Punk Fashion, he said: "It's nerving having my work displayed in the College, but exciting as well, and I hope everyone enjoys it. This project was all about keeping things simple but still outstanding. The inspiration comes from Punk Rock, particularly Richard Hell, who was known for starting the fashion punk design by introducing ripped jeans, tops and slogan t-shirts. I also got inspiration from Katie England's styling; she used long scarves around the waist to extenuate the body, and some of the inspiration came from Kate Moss and her punk era also.”
