Southwark College hosted a lively Freshers’ Fair to welcome students ahead of the new academic year. The fair was a vibrant event that welcomed new and returning students with a day filled with fun activities, live music, stalls, and opportunities to learn about enrichment activities, student organisations, and local businesses.
The event also gave students the opportunity to meet college teams and community organisations, helping them make the most of their student life. It also provided the perfect chance for students to get involved, make new friends, and discover everything that Southwark College has to offer.
Organisations attending included CareTrade UK, Latin American Women's Rights Service (LAWRS), Adolescence Sure Start, Lambeth Safer Transport Team, Care Leaver Covenant, The Nest, Kooth, Berkeley Capital, Young Southwark Sexual Health, Community Southwark Volunteer Advice Service, Southwark Leisure Centres, Change, Grow, Live (CGL), Nightstop, RISE, National Tennis, Future Champs, Mosaic, Evelina London EOTAS Provision, Hope for the Young, WeAreWaterloo, SEL Mind, LSBU, Energie Fitness, Hot Steppers Dance, Street Doctors, Walworth Police Engagement Team, and Student Support teams.
The Fair also marked the launch of a weekly foodbank and clothing donation point in partnership with The Salvation Army. Students, staff, and visitors supported this initiative, helping to provide essential items for those in need.
Overall, the Freshers Fair provided students with an excellent start to the academic year, offering the chance to explore clubs, support services, and local initiatives, and to become fully engaged in college life.
