The music students put on an incredible end-of-year performance at the lively Fox and Firkin venue in Lewisham. Open to the public, friends, and family, the event was a vibrant celebration of creativity and talent, highlighting the impressive performances of our Level 2 and 3 Music students.
The show was part of their final project, where students were assessed not only on their performances but also on their ability to organise and manage the entire event. It offered a unique opportunity to showcase the hard work and talent of our students to the local community.
The evening was filled with a diverse range of performances across various genres, offering something for everyone. Including piano compilations, high-energy dance music, well-known covers, original pieces and everything in between, our students demonstrated the diverse range of talent nurtured at the college. The eclectic mix of genres was a testament to the broad range of musical influences that our students draw from.
The event allowed students to take the stage in a real-world setting, giving them invaluable experience of running their own night and performing to a live audience as they prepare to take the next steps in their musical careers.
Kira Andrews, a Music, Performance and Production student who performed a mix of covers and original songs with her group, said: “It was lots of fun, it was like a live jam session. We did a jazz afrobeat reggae fusion set, and I enjoyed it; I think the crowd liked it too. It can be uncomfortable because it is a public venue, but it's confidence boosting and a great experience for our future careers.”
It was an opportunity for students, staff, friends, and family to come together and share in the success of our performers. The evening embodied the collaborative spirit of the college, where students are encouraged to work together, support one another, and show their work to the world.
