Southwark College was proud to host its second Enterprise Conference, celebrating the next pillar of the NCG Guarantee: Enterprise. The event brought together students, staff, and industry professionals for a day dedicated to developing the skills, confidence, and knowledge that prepare learners for future careers.

Throughout the term, students explored three key areas of enterprise learning: Financial Prudence, Creative Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Engagement. The conference gave them the chance to put these themes into practice through interactive workshops, engaging presentations, and creative performances.

A highlight of the day was a presentation from HSBC, offering practical advice on fraud prevention, financial security, and making informed decisions. This was followed by a lively panel discussion, where students asked questions and gained valuable insights into the world of finance and enterprise.

The conference also celebrated student creativity, with live singing and dancing performances bringing energy and excitement to the event. These performances highlighted the exceptional talent within the Southwark College community and added a vibrant, inspiring dimension to the day.

We extend our thanks to all the guest speakers, students, and staff who contributed to making the conference such a resounding success.

The NCG Guarantee recognises the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that support students’ progression into further study, training, or employment. Across all NCG colleges, learners gain access to a wide range of activities, resources, and initiatives built around five core principles designed to help them achieve their goals.

Students who complete activities aligned with these principles receive an NCG Guarantee certificate, demonstrating the valuable extra-curricular experiences they have undertaken as part of their study programme and enhancing their future prospects.
