Southwark College welcomed employers and universities to a Careers and Higher Education Fair during National Careers Week 2022 to support 16-18 and adult students in preparing for their next steps.

At the event, a mixture of over 20 employers and universities gathered in the College’s atrium to showcase the range of opportunities available to students that aim to improve their career prospects and equip them with essential skills for the future.

Employers gave an insight into their vacancies and apprenticeships on offer, and University representatives spoke to students about their course offerings as well as student life, entry requirements and their application process.

During the event, students were also able to hear from the College’s Apprenticeships team about the benefits of apprenticeships, such as gaining a qualification whilst earning a wage and valuable work experience.

Southwark College’s Careers service offers information, advice and guidance, support with CVs and personal statements and provides the opportunity for students to hear from external speakers to support students’ future goals and aspirations.
