Southwark College proudly celebrated the achievements of its adult students at the 2026 Adult Learners' Student Awards, recognising the dedication, resilience and ambition shown by students throughout their educational journeys.
The annual awards ceremony brought together students, families, staff, employer partners and invited guests for an inspiring evening celebrating the transformative power of adult education and lifelong learning. Awards recognised learners for their academic achievement, personal development, community contributions and commitment to building new skills for future careers.
Special guest host, lexicographer and head of Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, Susie Dent, joined Principal Jane Button in congratulating students on their achievements, highlighting the determination, resilience and perseverance demonstrated by adult students across the College.
Awards were presented by a range of distinguished guests who joined the College to celebrate the achievements of its adult learners, including:

The evening highlighted the diverse backgrounds and experiences of Southwark College's adult learners. Throughout the celebration, students, staff, employers and guests applauded the remarkable accomplishments of learners who embraced new challenges, overcame barriers and achieved exceptional success in their studies.
