Southwark College’s Supported Learning students marked Remembrance Day with a creative display in the College Atrium and a fundraising cake sale, raising an impressive £107.53 for the Royal British Legion.

To commemorate Remembrance Day, the students designed a thoughtful display encouraging staff, students and visitors to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of those who have served in the armed forces. They also participated in a respectful two-minute silence, demonstrating their commitment to remembrance and community values.

In addition to  the students organised a popular cake sale featuring a variety of delicious cupcakes and sweet treats. The event was warmly supportedby students and staff,  whose  generous  contributions, helped  raise  vital funds for the  Royal British Legion. This activity formed part of the Supported Learning curriculum, offering students the opportunity to develop practical, social and communication skills while working collaboratively towards a meaningful goal that benefits the community.

Southwark College is proud of its Supported Learning students for their creativity, teamwork and dedication in supporting such an important national cause. Their efforts exemplify the positive impact students can have both within and beyond the College.
