Southwark College Media students got a great taster of professional life when they became production crew for a promotional film to showcase the talents of up-and-coming musicians Nikita Bassi and Ajit Gill.

The challenging brief required students to use their filming skills at a live performance and develop a complete promotional package to a high professional standard. The film they have produced will now be shared on BBC socials, reaching thousands of music lovers.

The College was invited to take part in this amazing opportunity by Creative & Cultural Skills which has a national partnership with BBC Introducing to connect students and tutors with music talent development.

Natalie Garner, Head of Faculty for Creative Arts, comments: “This opportunity has been a great endorsement for the College’s Media Department, and has given our students invaluable experience of live performances. They rose to the challenge brilliantly and were enthusiastic, professional, creative and extremely hard-working.
