Southwark College kicked off GCSE Results Day with a special guest appearance from BAFTA-winning TV chef and presenter Big Zuu, who joined students in celebrating their academic achievements. His visit brought an extra buzz to the day, as he congratulated learners on their hard work and shared words of encouragement about pursuing their passions and staying resilient. The event marked a proud moment for students, staff, and the wider community, recognising the dedication that led to this year’s outstanding results.

Big Zuu said: "It’s been amazing to be at Southwark College today, meeting so many young people on such an important day. Whether you’ve smashed your GCSEs or you’re still figuring out your next step, this college is the place to come for advice and to find the right course for you. The energy here is inspiring – I can’t wait to see what these students go on to achieve.”

Many students celebrated excellent achievements across both GCSE and Level 3 courses on Results Days, setting the stage for their next steps in education.

The day was filled with excitement as students picked up their results, many of them achieving top grades. The hard work and dedication of both students and staff over the past year have truly paid off, with impressive results in subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.

Among the students celebrating today is Yu Hin Wu who said “I’ve recently got a five in my GCSE maths. I have been working hard towards it so I’m really happy. Thank you to Southwark College and to my teachers for all the help they’ve given me.”

The results reflect the commitment and determination of the College’s students, with many of them achieving top marks and securing their place for future success, whether that’s continuing their studies at Southwark College or moving on to new opportunities.

Our Careers Roadshow was also out in full force, visiting local schools on Results Day to provide young people in Southwark with essential guidance and support, helping them make well-informed decisions about their next steps in education.
