Southwark College has introduced a new Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course accredited by the University of the Arts (UAL) starting in January 2021. This intensive programme is designed to help learners widen their skills to prepare them for work or progression to specialist art and design studies at university or art college.

The course will run for 24 weeks covering a range of design principles including Product Design, Fine Art, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Photography, Games Design, and 3D Design. It will be delivered at the College’s modern facilities and online study through a mixture of lessons, workshops, visits to galleries, industry venues and masterclasses.

Learners will develop a portfolio of work to progress in Art and Design with pathways into Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Fine Art and Creative Media, as well as learning to market the work produced on the course. They will also benefit from working on creative briefs with external partners to help them develop their skills as independent practitioners.

Southwark College welcomes thousands of adult learners every year and has a proud history of delivering a range of creative arts courses. If you are over 18 years old, have an interest in Art & Design and want to develop and test your creativity, then this course is for you.
