Student Services

The Careers Service at Southwark College offers advice and guidance, which is confidential, impartial and open to all students studying at Southwark College. This includes:

  • Support for those unsure about their career or course choice
  • Intervention and advice for those at risk of leaving their course early
  • Higher Education/university, apprenticeship and employment options for when you complete your course
  • Options for future career paths or what course to take to achieve your career goals

You can access this help through contacting the Careers Service or by dropping in to the weekly sessions on Wednesday. You can also access resources on our virtual platforms or by booking an appointment.  

We also hold regular group and 121 sessions on:

  • Exploration of ideas and planning next steps
  • Applying to university and understanding and navigating UCAS
  • Guidance on Apprenticeships and how to source and apply for vacancies  
  • Employability, including CV, applications and interview tips
  • Volunteering and gap year
  • Student Finance for university

Coronavirus update

Southwark College is closely monitoring all communications and guidance as it becomes available. This information is for students and staff and reflects updates from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England (PHE). We are prepared to escalate our contingency arrangements in the event of change.

The government is monitoring the situation closely and will continue to work with the WHO and international community. For staff and students, it remains business as usual across our sites and our workplaces.
