This exciting programme in Health and Human Sciences has been developed to provide you with a flexible approach to study using a variety of units within Science and Personal Development.     Entry Requirements

    GCSE English grade 3 or above or Level 1 Functional Skills English or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification in a related subject. You will also be required to complete an initial English assessment that indicates you have the appropriate level of English ability for this course.

    Assessment Method

    As part of this course students will be assessed through activities that are internally set by tutors. These include role play practical demonstrations report writing group discussions essays and question/answer exercises.

    Aims of the course

    This course is designed to inspire and motivate students to consider a career Science and allow them to develop the skills and gain broad knowledge required to enter employment in the sector. As well as to help students progress in further or higher education develop advanced learning gain employability skills that employers seek within the industry and build their confidence and self-esteem.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to Level 3 Applied Science or enter employment.

    Facilities

    The majority of lessons in this course will be delivered in a laboratory. In addition students will use ICT labs to develop research skills and proficiency in relevant computer software. Students will also be expected to participate in day trips in relation to particular subjects.

    Career Options

    There are a range of career options available. The majority of students pursue a wide variety of careers in science maths technology and engineering.
