What is enrolment?
Enrolment will confirm your place on a course, the level of course you should take, any fees you might be asked to pay and start date for your course, along with any other information you need to know. This is also where you will receive your learner agreement and student ID card. To complete your enrolment promptly, please remember to bring:
A copy of your enrolment invitation, either on your phone or printed
Payment method to pay for any fees due (if applicable)
All documentation requested to complete your enrolment. Please visit our Enrolment Checklist page for general information on what documentation to bring.
You might also be asked to bring:
NARIC conversions if your qualifications were not obtained in the UK (we can help you with this if you do not have the conversion information)
DBS or employer information if you are over 18 and applying for a course where this would be required, such as Healthcare, Teaching or Childcare
Any statement of Educational Needs or Education Health and Care Plan if applicable to you.

Enrolment FAQs
To help ensure a smooth and safe enrolment process, please take note of the following important information.
The College has limited capacity in the building, so we kindly ask that you do not bring children or other family members with you. The only exceptions are if you are aged 16–18 and bringing a parent or carer, or if you are an adult learner who requires support to complete your enrolment. If you need to bring children, please ensure you are accompanied by another adult who can wait with them in a designated area while you complete your enrolment.
There is no parking available on campus; however, you may find paid parking in the surrounding streets. If you are travelling by public transport, we recommend checking the TFL website to ensure you follow their guidance whilst travelling to and from the College.

You can make an application on the day or after you have received your results. Visit our Course Explorer page and select the course you wish to apply for. Enrolment is the process that officially confirms your place at college. During enrolment, you will be able to confirm the course you are taking and its level and provide all the necessary information we need to enrol you. Once you have completed this process, you will be officially enrolled as a college student. Enrolment will take place in person at our Southwark Campus located at 25 The Cut, London, SE1 8LF. Please visit our Find Us page to access the campus map, address, and travel directions. When you visit us at enrolment, you will be greeted by our Front of House Team at the Enrolment Welcome Desk who will explain the next steps. This includes: Steps What to expect Step 1 Welcome Desk/registration You will check-in/register at the welcome desk and check you have the documentation needed to progress your enrolment Step 2 BKSB assessment You will take an assessment to determine your current level of understanding and application of English and Maths skills Step 3 Qualifications on Entry You will meet our curriculum team who will check your qualification to confirm which course you are eligible to enrol on Step 4 Maths and English Our curriculum team will check your current qualifications and confirm if you need to enrol on English or Maths Step 5 Data entry and fee assessment During this step your details will be uploaded onto the College’s systems, and you will be assessed to see if you have to pay any fees. These will be explained to you along with different payment options. Step 6 Getting your Learner Agreement and Student ID card You will complete a Learning Agreement and receive your Student ID card which will confirm that you are fully enrolled on a course. Please see the table on the Enrolment Booking page for our Enrolment opening hours. The duration of your enrolment session will depend on if you have applied already or completed an online pre-enrolment or English and maths assessment. If you are taking an English or maths assessment, these will take an additional hour each. To help things run smoothly, please allow yourself approximately two to three hours to complete your enrolment. We aim to make the enrolment process as smooth and efficient as possible. However, please be aware that it may take some time to complete, as the College is legally required to collect accurate information to support your transition into college life. Your start date will depend on what course you enrol on. However, all our courses begin the week commencing 1 September 2025. You will be given your start date along with your course timetable at your enrolment. All term dates for the academic year 2025 – 2026 can be found on our Term Dates page. You can also speak with a member of our Live Chat team Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4pm and on Friday from 10am to 1pm. Our campus is located on The Cut opposite Southwark tube station. Please visit our Find Us page to access the campus map, address, and travel directions. When you enrol on a course at Southwark College, you’ll need to provide proof of identity and, in some cases, evidence of your right to live and study in the UK. You will also be asked to provide a range of information, including your contact details and address details, evidence of any qualifications you’ve achieved, and the contact details of your next of kin. Please do not bring children or other family members with you, unless you are 16-18-year-old and bringing a parent/carer with you, or an adult who needs support to complete your enrolment. If you need to bring children, we would ask you to bring another adult with you so they can wait with them in an alternative area whilst you complete your enrolment. You will be able to book an enrolment slot on our Enrolment Bookings page. Alternatively, you can drop in and register at the Enrolment Welcome Desk. If you have applied, you will receive an enrolment invitation confirming the date and time of your enrolment session via email or post. You can apply for a course using our Online Application or browse our courses using our Course Explorer. Once you have found the course you would like to apply for, click on the Apply Now button. Our Additional Learning Support team will be available to speak with you during your enrolment session.
