Aims of the course
The Level 1 Progression Diploma has been designed to introduce you to a wide range of creative study, in art and design, photography, music technology and textiles. You will develop a broad range of technical skills and learn about the entire creative process, from initial brief or idea to final outcome.
The course also explores creative development skills and problem solving, through experimenting with materials and research. At the same time, you will complete functional skills qualifications in maths and English. The course will give you the all-round skills that you need in order to progress to the creative area of your choice.
This qualification will prepare you to study on a Level Two Progression Diploma at Southwark College, in fashion, art & design, creative media or music production and performance.
The programme is delivered through a mixture of lessons, workshops, and projects, and happens in the classrooms, in the studios, off-site in trips to creative venues and in projects with external partners.
The primary purpose of the diploma is to aid students to progress to further learning.
