If you want to forge a career in business, the BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate will help you progress towards your goal. Designed to prepare you for employment or further vocational study, the practical, work-related course enables you to undertake projects and assignments based on realistic work situations and demands. The practical emphasis of our programme means that you will be exposed to specific areas of employment, giving you a strong foundation to later pursue a more advanced work-related qualification.

    Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs D-F / or 3-2 (in 2017 GCSEs) Relevant Level 1 qualification with Merit or above Relevant industry experience to Level 1 or above

    Coursework and external assessment which involves exams.

    Aims of the course

    To provide specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of business units, giving learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment and Level 3 qualifications.

    Progression Opportunities

    Having successfully completed this course you may choose to progress to Level 3 qualifications and, with additional training, pursue business-related careers in fields such as accounting, administration, customer service, finance, information technology or sales.

    Facilities

    Students benefit from: enrichment activities, gaining English and maths at the required levels (Grade C and above GCSE), tutorial support, employability skills training, work experience, support with job/university applications and interview preparation.

    The course is delivered in classrooms and dynamic work spaces as well as a dedicated 90-seater theatre. Facilities include specialist IT equipped classrooms and a well-resourced Learning Centre.
