Prior attainment of the UAL Applied General Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3) Programme. 4 GCSEs at grade four or above including English and maths.
Continuous assessment: by project completion online and hard-copy portfolio submission presentations written research projects group work; and primarily by two externally-assessed projects.
Aims of the course
The UAL level 3 Applied General Extended Diploma in Art and Design is designed to be an 'Applied General' qualification that provides you with the skills knowledge and understanding necessary to progress onto further learning. The skills developed throughout this qualification may also support you to progress into appropriate entry level roles in employment and training programmes or apprenticeships in the creative industry.
This qualification will support students to progress or transition to a range of further education and vocational courses such as: UAL Level 4 Diploma in Art and Design Foundation Studies or Degree study in Art & Design.
This programme is delivered through a mixture of lessons workshops and projects and takes place in classrooms and studios off-site in trips to galleries and in projects with external partners.
The primary purpose of this diploma is to aid students to progress to further learning. However the transferable skills and knowledge developed as part of this qualification will support students to progress into appropriate entry level roles or higher apprenticeships in the creative sector. This qualification attracts UCAS tariff points and therefore may be recognised by higher education providers as meeting admission requirements either in its own right or alongside other level 3 qualifications to many relevant courses.
