If you choose to join Southwark College you will be able to gain qualifications that may not be available to you at school. You may want to follow a particular career path and use this as the first rung on the ladder, or you might just want to study something new that interests you. As you will see, there are a range of courses to suit all interests and abilities. All courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications and generate GCSE points when you achieve the qualification.
The courses are available during the week as link courses with your school and you will need to be committed to the course for one year. You must have the agreement of your school before applying.
All the courses that you can study at the Southwark College generate GCSE points that will help you to progress on to further study. You could apply to stay at Southwark College to take higher level vocational qualifications when you leave school, or you could use these points to stay at school to take A Levels or apply for an Apprenticeship. Whatever you choose to do, you will have had the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge that you will be able to use when you enter the work place or undertake further training.
If you are interested in studying at Southwark College you will need to apply through your school. You will be asked to attend an interview at College and may also be invited to attend a taster session so that you can look around the Centre and be sure that you have chosen the course that is right for you.
Your interview will be an opportunity for you to find out more about the course, to tell us about yourself and why you want to study the course you have chosen.
